ERTC Clarity Coming This Week? IRS Webinar May Shed Light On IRS Plans

By Jeffrey M. Glassman on February 5, 2024
There are still many questions about how the IRS is handling ERTC (also known as “ERC”) claims after its moratorium deadline of December 31, 2023 expired. This Thursday, February 8 at 1pm Central Time (2pm Eastern Time), the IRS is hosting a free webinar to provide updates on the ERTC Voluntary Disclosure Program and the moratorium.

Tax professionals can earn one continuing education (CE) credit for participation. The IRS also states that the webinar may also be useful to others interested in this topic, such as employers who are exploring options to resolve an inaccurate ERC claim that was processed and paid. The webinar will include a live question-and-answer session—which could prove interesting. Those who want to attend need to register.

Per the IRS announcement (link):

The 75-minute webinar will focus on:
  • Who can participate and how to apply for the ERTC Voluntary Disclosure Program.
  • The advantages of the program and what happens after applying.
  • ERTC resources available from the IRS.
I will be participating in this webinar and look forward to learning more about the IRS’ plans going forward. Please feel free to ask me any questions about the webinar, the ERTC, or any other federal criminal or civil tax issue. My contact information is (214) 749-2417 and jglassman@meadowscollier.com.
